About Us

Sarcophagus is a privately-funded limited company providing established online construction collaboration technologies which have been used by blue-chip clients  since 1998.

The company was the first company of its type to have reached profitability. As a result it is now one of the UK`s most successful independent collaboration companies.

The business was formed with a singular vision; to save the construction industry cost, time and risk by providing quality project information and knowledge management services.

As authors and hosting providers, the company provides intuitive and integrated collaboration solutions which include the-project, a business collaboration environment permitting centralised sharing management and global dissemination of project information in real time. This is complemented by eTenderer, a revolutionary online tendering and procurement system permitting teams to compile tender documents and invite tender submissions via sealed bids into an online safe deposit box.

Graham Howarth, Founder and Chief Executive believes that financial independence was key in establishing a solid foundation for growth which has in turn enabled a very customer focused business ethos.

Graham has over twenty years of Construction IT experience and believes a successful project extranet should provide fast and intuitive access to information.

He says: "We have a solid business undergoing healthy organic growth not artificially inflated by early over funding. By keeping overheads to a minimum we can be extremely flexible quickly responding to meet market demands whilst providing a very realistic pricing structure. We firmly believe that quality should be our mantra and that our Clients are at the centre of all we do."

Sarcophagus has retained all of its clients since the company was formed. It has enjoyed exponential growth which has created a sustainable business by providing clients and users with online solutions that address their needs. The company was keen to distance itself from the "Internet boom and bust model" which is leading to many providers seeking large sums from venture capitalists and therefore resulting in early over funding and an inability to meet shareholders expectations.

The Yorkshire, UK based company has been profitable since 2000 and continues to retain its competitive edge.

A long term in-house user survey demonstrates users prefer the-project as it provides them with a tool which is "fast and easy to use".

Sarcophagus was a primary partner with the European Commission to develop DocLink, a cross vendor exchange protocol to permit document management systems to share information with each other. Primary partners included Taylor Woodrow and Leeds University who chose the-project above other systems based on its configurability and non folder based structure. DocLink formed the basis of an information transfer schema to permit the market to consolidate and allow the collaborators to collaborate.
